The Montpellier Open, also known as Open Sud de France, is an annual tennis tournament of the ATP Tour 250 series. The Montepellier Open is played on an indoor hard-court tennis court in Montpellier, France.

The 55th edition of the ATP tour began in January 2024, and the Montpellier Open 2024 is scheduled to commence from 29 January 2024 to 4 February 2024 at Sud de France Arena in Montpellier, France.

About the venue

The Montpellier Arena is an enclosed arena that hosts many sporting events and concerts. The Montpellier Open is held on a hard tennis court in the arena with approximately 7500 spectators. The seating capacity can be increased to 10,000 people according to the nature of the event.

History

The inaugural tournament of the Montpellier Open took place in 1987 at the Palais des Sports de Gerland Arena in Lyon, France. The tournament was shifted to the Sud de France Arena in 2009. The first tournament was won by Yannick Noah a former tennis player from France, and the previous event held in 2024 was won by Alexander Bublik, a Kazakhstani tennis player.

The total prize pool for the 2024 Montpellier Open is €630,705, while the prize pool for the 2024 tournament was €490,990.
