The Dubai Tennis Championship, currently known as Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships due to sponsorship reasons is an annual men’s and women’s professional tennis tournament held in Dubai, UAE. The Tournament is owned by Dubai Duty-Free, a Dubai-based company that looks after duty-free operations at Dubai Airport.
The 2024 Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships will begin on 24 February 2024 and will conclude on 03 March 2024 at Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Stadium in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Venue
The Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Stadium is a Tennis center in Dubai. Inaugurated in 1996, the stadium is host to the ATP Tour 500 series event and has a hard court tennis court.
The Stadium has a seating capacity of approximately 5000 people and is one of the most iconic venues in Dubai, with its state-of-the-art facilities and excellent playing conditions.
History
The Dubai Tennis Championships made its debut in 1993 under the banner of the ATP Tour 250 series. There was no proper venue to host the tournament and was held at a temporary hard court with a seating capacity of 3000. In 1996, the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Stadium was inaugurated, which became the host of the tournament. The Dubai Tennis Championships is one of the three tennis competitions that offer equal prize money to the men's and women's champions.
